Recently Completed:
The Preserve

The Preserve, Houston, Texas
Architect: Joshua I.F. Jones

Recently dubbed ‘The most beautiful gym in the world’ by Paper City magazine and ‘One of the most beautiful luxury gyms in the world’ by Men’s Journal, G2LD was proud to be a part of the design team on this exclusive fitness facility. At 16,000 square feet, one of the primary goals of the gym was to let nature in - enhancing both mind and body and escaping the indoor box feeling that many gyms exude. Lighting was an integral part in drawing the natural, airy feeling into the space. For more information on this project, click here.

On the Boards:
Houston's First Baptist Church - Downtown

Houston's First Baptist Church - Downtown, Houston, Texas
Architect: Kirksey Architecture

G2LD is proud to be a part of the design team for Houston's First Baptist Church’s new Downtown facility. With the renovated building easily visible from two major freeways, the client desired a lighting design solution which would be highly visible and readily identifiable to those passing by. Working in conjunction with Kirksey, the G2LD team devised a lighting scheme which consists of streaks of light intersecting and wrapping the building - a reference to the modern network of lines painted on the building which are visible during the day. G2LD completed a series of renderings and mock-ups that helped the client and design team agree upon the exact approach and specification. For more information on this project, click here.

Lighting Bloopers

It’s a hazard of the job - we can’t go anywhere without analyzing the lighting. We’ve seen it all - the good the bad, the ugly, and the so-bad-it’s-hilarious. So we’ve devised this column to share some of the funniest lighting mishaps.

This picture is self-explanatory. Something has gone wrong here. Very, very wrong…
If you come across a spectacular (or just embarrassing) lighting blooper,  please send it to us at  sarah@G2LD.com
We're always looking for a good laugh...
